Thoughts from a first timer to Haiti....

What a crazy 24 hours it has been... Last minute packing and details to wrap up at home before waking up at 2:30 to get to the airport by 3:45.  Then fast forward a few short hours and our team has landed in Haiti.  Only an hour and a half from Miami we transport from the wealth and resources of the U.S. to the poverty of Haiti.  How is it that the technology and knowledge we have developed that can get us not only to Haiti in only a couple of short hours, and connect us to (relatively) high speed Internet to post on a blog...yet the problem of poverty still persists in such wide scale devastation.  No easy answer for that one...but still makes you wonder....hmmmm.

Well...we made it...all except for one bag which we hope will be found tomorrow.  The new sights, sounds, smells, and culture are all a lot to take in, but the team spirits are high and filled with expectation of what not only we will experience, but what God will do both through is and in us.  Please continue to pray as we move forward into our week...

More to come...
